  • Author: jonathan_morgan
  • Total Time: 10 minutes
  • Yield: 2 servings

Description

A quick, 10-minute gourmet-style sandwich featuring crispy buttery croissants, tender seasoned chicken, crisp romaine lettuce, and creamy Caesar dressing with parmesan.

Ingredients

  • French Croissants (fresh or day-old)
  • Chicken Breast (boneless skinless or rotisserie)
  • Romaine Lettuce (fresh heads)
  • Caesar Dressing (creamy, emulsified)
  • Parmesan Cheese (freshly grated)
  • Butter (unsalted, for brushing)
  • Garlic (1 clove, minced)
  • Black Pepper (freshly cracked)
  • Salt
  • Olive Oil (for cooking chicken)

Instructions

  1. Pat chicken breasts dry and season with salt, pepper, and minced garlic.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium heat with olive oil and cook chicken for 4-5 minutes per side until internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  3. Remove chicken from heat and let rest for 2 minutes before slicing against the grain.
  4. While chicken rests, wash and tear romaine lettuce into bite-sized pieces.
  5. Toss lettuce gently with a splash of Caesar dressing until lightly coated.
  6. Slice croissants in half horizontally and place cut sides up on a baking sheet.
  7. Brush cut sides of croissants lightly with melted butter.
  8. Toast croissants under the broiler for 1-2 minutes until golden and crisp, or in a dry skillet for 30 seconds per side.
  9. Spread a thin layer of Caesar dressing on the bottom half of the toasted croissant.
  10. Add a handful of dressed romaine lettuce.
  11. Layer sliced chicken on top of the lettuce.
  12. Sprinkle generously with grated parmesan cheese.
  13. Top with the other half of the croissant and press down gently.
  14. Cut diagonally and serve immediately.

Notes

Toast the croissants to prevent sogginess. Slice chicken against the grain for tenderness. Store components separately if meal prepping; assemble just before eating.
