Description
These easy, budget-friendly cinnamon rolls use refrigerated biscuit dough and cookie butter spread for a decadent, spicy-sweet breakfast that requires no kneading or rising time.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 can (16 oz) refrigerated jumbo biscuit dough
- 1/2 cup cookie butter spread (e.g., Biscoff or speculoos)
- 1/2 cup dark brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar (optional, for glaze)
- 2 tablespoons milk (optional, for glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Separate the biscuit dough rolls and flatten them into thin sheets (about 1/4 inch thick).
- In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar and ground cinnamon until combined.
- In another small bowl, melt the butter.
- Spread about a tablespoon of cookie butter over each flattened biscuit sheet, leaving a small border.
- Sprinkle a generous layer of the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the cookie butter.
- Roll the dough up tightly from one end to the other and pinch the seam to seal.
- Place the rolled logs into the prepared baking dish and cut into individual rolls using dental floss or a sharp knife.
- Brush the tops of the rolls with the remaining melted butter.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown. Cover with foil if browning too quickly.
- While baking, mix powdered sugar and milk to create a glaze.
- Let rolls cool for 5 minutes, then drizzle with glaze and serve warm.
Notes
Ensure cookie butter is softened before spreading to prevent tearing the dough. For best results, roll the dough tightly to prevent leaking. Can be assembled ahead and refrigerated, adding 5-10 minutes to baking time. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
